How To Find God?
Matthew 2:3 When King Herod heard this, he was frightened, and all Jerusalem with him.

To all outward appearance Herod was a mighty king, fortunate in war. Wherever he struck with his sword, all went well. He was wise, keen-witted, powerful, and wealthy in trade with foreign lands. But in his house he was frail and weak, a hapless man. Thus Herod was outwardly fortunate but inwardly miserable. But Christ, our true king, was outwardly utterly poor, wretched, despised, and cast away; yet he was inwardly utterly filled with joy, comfort, and courage.
Now we must take care that Herod, who is outwardly and in the world so fortunate, not steal away from us our true and gracious king, who is Christ. Although he lies in a manger as a poor and wretched babe, we must go there to him.
Therefore, if we desire happiness and want a pure and happy conscience, we must forgo King Herod’s manner of living and follow another king, who is Christ. This means that we must not be so bold as to seek justification through works, nor place our hopes in them, but that we must etch on our hearts the image of Christ alone, the gracious Lord, we must etch on our hearts the image of Christ alone, the gracious Lord, who comes without any show. For when the three holy kings had left all human works behind and all human help, and (trusting in the holy Word of God through Micah, the prophet, 5:2) went forth toward Bethlehem, immediately they saw the star again.
