如何活在末日？
審判日是你歡喜快樂的日子，遠勝過新娘的婚禮之日。如果你相信，這一切都將是美好的。
基督在這裡斷言：「這就是審判：光來到世間。（根據原文直譯，不同於中文翻譯的用詞和順序）」就如同是說：「這是宏偉祝福的光。照入你的心中，並說：不要害怕上帝的憤怒，因為他以恩慈待你。即使你犯了罪，你的良心苦惱，壓迫著你，你膽怯地站在上帝的審判之中，你必須意識到：一切都已經更新了，要用盼望和嚮往，取代對末日審判的畏懼。因為對於你來說，審判不是對你的審判，而是你的救贖。」
在那日，我們將被拯救，脫離最後的敵人——死亡（林前15:26），我們的身體將從墳墓里站立起來。魔鬼、死亡、和蟲子都將結束，上帝不再不悅。審判將你從墳墓里帶出來，拯救你脫離一切的邪惡。所以，審判日是你歡喜快樂的日子，遠勝過新娘的婚禮之日。這可怕的日子已經為你變成了可喜可盼的日子。如果你相信，這一切都將是美好的。
對於信徒來說，末日是安慰，因為可怕的譴責和審判已經過去。但是，愛黑暗的人將經歷相反的事情。他們必然活在對末日的恐懼之中。——馬丁路德（《約翰福音的講道》）（LW 22:384）
This is what Christ means when He asserts here: 「This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world.」 As if He were to say: 「It is a grand and blessed light which shines into your hearts and says: ‘Fear not the wrath of God, for God is gracious to you.’ Even if your sin and your conscience plague and oppress you and you stand in awe of God’s judgment, you must realize that all has been changed and that judgment has been abolished. Instead of harboring fear of the Final Judgment you must yearn and long for it, since it does not denote your judgment at all but your redemption.」 At that time we shall be delivered from the last enemy, death (1 Cor. 15:26); our bodies will rise again from the grave. Devil, death, and worms will cease; and God’s disfavor will end. This judgment will draw you from the grave and deliver you from all evil. Therefore the Day of Judgment will be a time of rejoicing for you, far more so than the wedding day is for the bride; for this terrible Day has been converted into a happy and desirable Day for you. Thus all is well if you believe.
But those who love darkness more than light will experience the reverse. They must live in dread of the Last Day. For the believer, the thought of this Day is comforting, since condemnation and the terrible judgment are gone.(AE 22:384-385）(Sermons on the Gospel of St. John)
