一種是頑固自負的偽君子,心比石缸還堅硬;

Gospel Changes Hearts Of Stone Into Hearts of Flesh
John 2:6 Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification.

The six water jars of stone out of which the Jews performed their ritual washings are the books of the Old Testament, which through law and commandments cleansed the Jewish people only outwardly.
To turn water into wine means to make lovely understanding of the law which is brought about as follows: before the gospel comes, everyone understands the law as demanding works, and that we are to for fulfill it with our works. From such understanding come either stubborn and arrogant hypocrites, harder than any pot of stone can be, or anxious and uneasy consciences. But The gospel transfigures the law in that it demands more than we can do, needing someone very different from us to fulfill it. That is, it calls for Christ, driving and pointing to him, that through his grace we may first by faith be made like him and other Christians, and then really do good works. So the gracious gospel comes and makes the water wine. Yes, it is now a precious thing, and has a lovely taste, for the-law is at once so deep and the lofty, so holy, true, and good, that it is praised and loved forever because it demands such great things. Thus it becomes sweet and easy which was previously hard and difficult, yet even impossible, for through the Spirit it is now alive within the heart. (WA 17.2:69)
